Slater's Birthday Party

Today was Slater's birthday party at Cherry Creek Lake. It was a really fun day and the kids had a blast. The weather ended up being perfect and we could not keep the kids out of the water. I enjoyed visiting with Kelly and Tiffany, watching the older kids interact. Meeting Alicia and Breanna's new boyfriends. It just kills me how much Meg and Bre look alike minus the hair color, there are a couple of pictures when they are getting off of the jet skis and their expression is exactly alike. Miyah could not get enough of the sand and would just play and play and play. Ryan loved the water and the sand. Kenzie and Meaghan so enjoyed the water toys...a little scary to watch but they did good. Calya loved collecting the shells and she was able to ride the skis with her Uncle Tracy. My MIL and her husband were there but they left very early so I was unable to talk with them or get any pictures of them. Thank you to Misti and Johnnie for the fun day at the lake. Happy Birthday Slater!!

You are so funny...NOT!!!!!

OK...here is a really funny story and maybe you need to be there to get it however, I am going to share it so I do not forget about it. Saturday, Corey had emptied out his excursion to pick up a washing machine from our friends house. He had to remove his third row seat in order for it to fit, he laid it in the drive way and called me outside so I could make sure no one took it. We do not live in a bad neighborhood but...OK. I went right over to the seats and laid down because I was tired, remember we had a sleep over the night before and just spent 5 hours at the pool. I told Corey that I would lay there until he got home...I am sure that the some people would call this a white trash nap...they know who they are if they are reading this!!! I even went inside to get my book and Kenzie, she is now a part of this scheme. I got this bright idea that if Corey was so concerned about someone taking his seat I would push it towards the street and put a "FREE...Take Me" sign on it. Meaghan was with him so we tired to call her so she could let us know when they were almost home because we really did not want someone to take it. We had taken the phone outside because she did not answer and I tried to get her a couple of times, I then laid the phone on my van by the windshield wipers so it would not fall. Kenzie and I decided that we would go ahead and put the sign on the seat and just wait. All of a sudden Corey turned the corner and saw his seat...of course....I thought that it was the funniest thing that I have done in a while and "I" was laughing so hard!! Corey did not think it was as funny as we did.

Later that evening I went to call my sister and could not find the phone. When I had woke up on Sunday it dawned on me that the phone was never brought back into the house. Well, I had gone to the gas station and Corey had taken Meaghan to the movies in the van later Saturday night. We drove our routes to the gas station and the movie, we were unable to find the phone. So guess what Corey got for Father's Day...a new cordless phone!!! Happy Father's Day Corey...you rock!! We needed a new phone anyway but I NEVER write down phone numbers because they are on the caller ID, so I have lost phone numbers which one of them was a very important number on a house that we have been looking at!!!

Cayla's Slumber Party!

Last night Cayla had her slumber party with her school friends. They all seemed to have a great time and we sent them home VERY tired!!! They opened presents, played games, had a pillow fight, ran through the sprinklers, ate junk food, had birthday cake, stayed up late, got up early and went swimming for 5 hours!

This is Laura, Abby, Cayla, Jasmine and Aurora...Cayla and Abby seemed to have a nice bond together and it was apparent in the pictures that I took of them!

I hope that you enjoyed yourself Cay!!

Meg is officially in High School!!

Last night was Megi's last night in middle school. They had a wonderful ceremony which consisted of the students playing their instruments, singing songs, a really nice slide show that each of the students made of their favorites pictures that told a picture of themselves. Then the principal handed out certificates. The teachers also presented them with awards that were based on what the kids taught the teachers. Meaghan's award was for happiness, they said that she was always happy to be there...maybe I can get some of that happiness here!!!

Congrats Meg, we are proud of you and look forward to your new adventures at the high school.

Love,
Mom

What a fun weekend we had...

We had such a fun and busy weekend. It all started on Thursday with Kenzie's soccer party which ended up being very fun and we enjoyed everyone. Not exactly sure where Kenzie got the t-shirt from in our house but it was VERY wrinkly and I am embarrassed to post it, but it is what it is!!

Friday we went to The Bay and swam all afternoon. That was fun and we are going back this coming Saturday for Cayla's birthday party. Saturday we went to the airshow at Jefferson County Airport. We have never been to an airshow and we had a really nice time. I forgot how loud it would be and with Ryan's sensory disorder the noise was a little to much but we but kleenex in his ears and he was fine. We sat right on the runway and watched the planes take off and that was the best part. I have also included a video so you could see how close we were. Ryan was so happy with the planes that he went to the pilot below and told him thank you and hugged his leg, this is very uncommon of Ryan so we all got a laugh out of it.

Sunday, we were able to watch Peanut and the girls play softball for their church. We than went back to their house for a BBQ. As always the food was wonderful and it is always nice to spend time with my family.

I hope that everyone has a great day. Tonight is Meaghan's contintuation and if tonight is anything like this morning than there will be lots of tears. I will post more pictures later.

Kenzie made the team!

Last week Kenzie had tryouts for the competitive soccer league and she was asked to play on their Select A Team. I was NOT expecting this one, I was hoping that we were going to make the Gold D Team. The reason that I say that is because a lot of these girls are very good and I was not sure if Kenzie would be in the same skill level as them. We just finished the spring season two weeks ago and Kenzie’s new team has already had a meeting and we were informed that the girls who have not already taken a Footability Camp it is strongly recommended that they take it. The camp sounds really good until I saw the cost. I wanted to not work the Bronco games this year but it looks like we may need to. Between the registration cost, warm up uniforms and bag, camp and the 2nd tournament, our cost for the season (not the year) are crazy and they keep adding up. On Monday we had to take her to get fitted for her new uniforms, I found out that it also includes two practice uniforms (now I need to keep track of practice uniforms…come on!!) Besides that part of it, I have to say I was SOOOOOOO proud of Mackenzie and her soccer abilities. Her new coach called her after school the day after try outs and offered her a spot on his team, to watch her face and then to talk with him about Mackenzie was most certainly a rockin’ mama moment!!!! The downside is coming true about how the parents get WEIRD, there were 6 girls total from our team that tried out and the other girls were all placed on a great team together. A couple of the families are being very rude to us and they are acting like children, we have really enjoyed these families and their children over the last two and half years. It really hurts my feelings that they would treat us this way instead of being happy that everyone made a team they are acting like children. We are going to Kenzie’s end of the season soccer party tomorrow night so hopefully they have grown up a little.

Well…I just wanted to share our joy in Kenzie’s soccer accomplishments…even if she has shattered the bank (it was already broken, now it is in a million pieces…hahahaha). I hope that everyone has a great day!!
